Latest SASSA SRD R350 Grant News Today On Systems Glitch Solution. Due to a statewide systems glitch, South African Post Office (Sapo) branches were unable to process over-the-counter withdrawals from Sassa gold cardholders receiving social handouts.

Given the importance of the grant payments to the livelihoods of many South Africans, Postbank extended an apologies to all of its Sassa grant recipients for the inconvenience caused by the system issues.

This is due to widespread system issues at the Post Office, which have prevented Postbank customers from making in-person purchases, deposits, or withdrawals of Sassa benefits.

On Saturday afternoon, Postbank sent a statement saying that the problems with the SASSA grant payment system had been fixed (5 November 2022).

A representative for Postbank, Dr. Bongani Diako, has stated that the issues with the system have been fixed, and that the bank has been stable, with successful transactions over the ATM and shops, ever since.

System issues that prevented payments to SASSA gold card holders have been fixed, so they may withdraw their grants at ATMs and stores around the country.

Postbank claims that among the more than 7 million people who get social subsidies and have a Sassa gold card, the vast majority use it to make purchases or withdrawals from ATMs.

To make purchases at any store that takes bank cards, Sassa grantees can use their Sassa gold cards, which “operate fully within the national payment system comparable to any other bank card.”

This is why those who received grants were instructed to withdraw cash from ATMs and stores like Shoprite, Checkers, Pick & Pay, and Usave.

Postbank promises to keep tabs on how well its systems are performing in Post Offices and update those who benefit from its services as necessary.
