Key roles and responsibilities
- Develop the Sourcing Strategy for the People Non – Sensitive category
- Develop, lead and drive negotiation strategies for the category/ies
- Identify and track benefits (monetary and non-monetary), mitigate the risks and ensure compliance governance is in place
- Collate all necessary zone analytics related to the category/ies
- Analyse spend and user specific requirements
- Conduct market research to assess zone dynamics related to the category/ies
- Ensure readiness across both zone and country for strategy execution
- Escalate where necessary supplier performance issues
- Support Collaborative Optimization activities where applicable
- Handle second level escalations with suppliers/internal stakeholders to resolve performance issues
- Collaborate with supplier and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation of Category managers sourcing outputs / agreements
- Ensure suppliers are correctly enabled through Regional Procurement Shared Services
- Ensure contractual terms & conditions are effectively “operationalised” within business
- Manage the relationship and drive collaboration with all stakeholders at a functional, regional and global level
Education & Experience
- Relevant Tertiary Qualification
- 3 years+ procurement experience managing categories
- Regional or Global category management experience
- Sound knowledge and understanding of procurement strategic sourcing methodology
- Critical & Preferred Skills needed for success in the position
- Ensures that processes follow established compliance requirements
- Collaborate with supplier and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation of sourcing strategy outputs / agreements
- Good knowledge, understanding and use of Microsoft Office tools
- Good analytics skills
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Sound knowledge of procurement systems like Ariba and use of eRFX and eAuction
- Knowledge of SAP an advantage
- Must be willing to travel into Africa on a frequent basis
